SOLDThis painting was done as a commission where several sketches were completed and the idea was agreed upon. I enjoy sharing a vision and creating paintings that people will enjoy for years (or even generations) to come. In this case a female goldfinch is returning to her nest to line it with some freshly found thin grasses. The model for the painting actually collected these grasses from a planter right outside of my studio window this past spring. The pink crabtree blossoms help to offset the other primary blues and yellows in the painting.
