SOLDIn visiting the Oregon coast this past weekend, I was able to observe flocks of migrating shorebirds in some spectacular sunshine (a rarity there). This miniature painting of sanderlings was inspired by watching them scurry in and out with each wave feeding right at the oscillating water line. They move so quickly and almost have a toy like appearance has they chase each retreating wave.
